In Japan, New Year’s Day is the most important holiday of the year—a time to welcome fresh beginnings and hope for good fortune. Although Japan follows the Gregorian calendar, the New Year is also seen as the symbolic start of spring, filled with beauty and renewal. In this class, we’ll celebrate the season by creating elegant origami decorations inspired by Japanese traditions: a cherry-blossom like flower symbolizing Japanese beauty, and the iconic paper crane—folded especially for this joyful occasion. Join me to experience the art, meaning, and peaceful spirit of Japanese New Year through origami!
