Students will observe and sketch a model in various poses using different media and techniques. Each class will begin with a series of gesture drawings ranging from 1 to 10 minutes, gradually increasing in length to conclude with long sitting and standing poses. Students will learn to consider anatomy as they observe and sketch the nude figure, using the elements of line, shape, and value.
This class is designed for beginners or for adults returning to life drawing through a guided refresher course.
Materials: soft vine charcoal, 18×24 Strathmore 300 or 400 series drawing pad, 18×24 newsprint drawing pad, kneaded eraser, Conté à Paris crayons- color Sanguine Watteau
